Hi, I'm Sarah.
I provide online business support for creatives who are ready to scale their business & focus on what matters most.

Why, yes.  This is a post about spring cleaning your business in the winter.

This can be done anytime of year depending on your industry, but this is specifically for my creatives in the wedding industry because now is the ideal time for them!

For my wedding industry friends, you’re most likely swamped with events and travel from April through mid-November. And those are the months that you’re likely living in priority mode (especially if you’re a team of 1).

You’re getting the client work done and keeping up with the absolute necessities that keep the ship afloat, but we both know there’s so much more to running a business that gets pushed to the back burner when the client work is top priority.

And let’s not even mention the passion projects or dreams of scaling your business.

And then in December you’re probably either:

1. Still getting caught up on the last few priorities before the end of the year, or

2. In complete recovery mode after surviving a busy season and the thought of prepping for next year stresses you out.

I’ve worked as a virtual assistant for creatives in the wedding industry for the last 10 years and I get it!  Take the month of December to recoup, but don’t miss out on the quieter months from January through March to set yourself up for success for the rest of the year next year. You can think of it as spring cleaning (or maybe even meal prepping) for your business. 😉

It’ll take time and energy in the moment, but future-you will feel less stressed & grateful to past-you for being intentional and putting in the work now.

Ready to reset your creative business so 2026 will feel more intentional & less stressful? Take a peek at some of the tasks I look at when resetting a business for the season ahead:

  • Website & Guide Updates: refresh your portfolio, update copy & pricing, review formatting, contact form, links, and make any edits.
  • Catch Up:  You’ll never feel fully prepared for the year ahead if you still have items on your to-do list from last year.  Catch up by adding last year’s events to your blog, submit events for publication if you wish, schedule overdue pins, note which events from last year that you want to share more of in the slower season, etc.
  • BTS Prep: Prepare what you can for the upcoming season’s events like client folders, documents, task managers. Gather and organize BTS content from last year so it’ll be easily accessible during busy months when you want to share more about your process!
  • CRM: Tighten up automations, update (or create) templates for the new year, and archive completed projects.
  • Testimonials: send any overdue testimonial requests, update testimonial library, and add to guides/website.
  • Albums: Design & order outstanding albums.
  • Newsletters: Clean your email list, audit existing email workflows, and refresh any templates.
  • Offers: Evergreen any offers you launched during the busy season.
  • SOPs: Create or update your SOPs. This will ensure nothing falls through the cracks AND will allow you to easily delegate tasks should you decide to in the future!

It’s a lot, but these ideas are just to get you thinking of ways you can prepare for the busier months!  I know these tasks can often fall to the wayside because by the time the slower season rolls around…creatives need the time to rest and find inspiration for the year ahead instead of ticking items off their to-do list.

Which is why I’m SO excited to announce that between January and April, I’m offering an exclusive amount of 1 & 2-month packages for the creative business owner who wants to reset their business & prepare it for the year ahead (but don’t want to do it themselves)! It’ll be fully customized to you, the needs of your business, and your priorities for the year ahead.
